Why is PVC the recommended material ?
PVC shutters are not only more resistant to moisture, they also offer higher fire resistant qualities. They are cheaper, easier to clean, and quicker to manufacture than wooden shutters.
PVC shutters offer a modern and sleek look, well suited to all homes. Designer Eco Plus Shutters harness the benefits of other materials by utilising the strength of aluminium in the core. This reinforces each shutter blade to ensure the highest durability.
For larger shutters, midrails can assist with the integrity of the panels and prevent them from sagging. If the drop of your window is greater than 1500mm, you will be required to add one midrail. Maximum panels height is 2600mm. Whilst maximum individual panel widths are 950mm (89mm) and 800mm (63mm)
Manufacturing
Our shutters have an 8 week lead time and are manufactured in China. The reality is that there is only a very small percentage of shutters sold in Australia that are actually manufactured in Australia (and many of these are merely assembled in Australia, having been imported from Chinas as components). Currently 80-90% of the plantation shutters supplied in Australia are PVC shutters made in China. The price difference between imported and locally made products can be significant. The best value and now the very best quality plantation shutters are sourced directly from China.
